Dequan BurnsideDequan is currently a sophomore studying Software Engineering at Iowa State University.   He also participates in the President's Leadership Class as well as the Men of Color Collective Group.  Dequan will be starting his own business in the fall and releasing a mobile application to help people connect to their favorite organizations and their events.

 

“The Sanford Center was vital in developing the skills I need to be successful in society.  Important traits like diligence, hard work, and discipline are staples of my personality that were first taught to me in my youth with Fitz Grant at the Sanford Center, and then again later through athletics with Coach Brandon Holmes.  These programs inspired me to want more for myself and for others, while setting my expectations high as a future leader in society.
